1) EXHIBITIONS
Wenceslao Fernández Flórez. Life and work: In collaboration with the Foundation Wenceslao Fernández Flórez, the Poets´ Home accommodated a photographic sample about the life and work of this Galician writer from the 1st, December to the 14th, January, 2007.

Drawings by Lobeira: From 30th, May to 20th, April, the Poets´ Home accommodated this sample of 21 original nibs made by Xurxo Lorenzo and belonging to the Foundation Vicente Risco. These images about the mountain range of O Xurés illustrated one of his brother´s work, Xaquín Lorenzo “Xocas”, in the magazine Nós.
Artist´s books: This sample by Baldo Ramos, poet and artist that was born in Celanova, was formed by a selection of “artist´s books” where word and picture are combined.
More than 2,300 people approached to the Poets´ Home and could gaze at this original sample which stayed in Celanova from 27th, April to 6th, July.

Nazón de Breogán: This sample was offered by the Vicepresidencia da Igualdade e do Benestar for the second half of July. Thanks to it a review of the history of Galicia was offered to its visitors.

Fantasies: The sculptor Xosé Famos offered with this sample a combination between reality and the figurative art in the searching of new forms of interest for the spectators.

2) BOOKS PRESENTATION
Celanova 1900-1981. Historical Memory: On 23rd, March, it took place the presentation of the book “Celanova 1900-1981. Historical Memory”, by the journalist from Celanova Antonio Piñeiro Feijóo, who is moreover the secretary of Curros Enríquez Foundation. This book invites to go for a walk through the history of the village by means of images.
Antonio Mouriño presided the act accompanied by Antonio Piñeiro, José María Rodríguez and Xulio Fernández Senra.
Establishment and development of the Escolas Pías in the Monastery of San Salvador de Celanova: Coinciding the year 2007 with the celebration of the MC anniversary of the born of San Rosendo, on 22nd, June, the “lareira room” hold the presentation of the book by José Ramón Hernández Figueirido. It is a book that recollects a hard researching work about the job of the Padres Escolapios in Celanova.
The act took place in the “lareira room”, the usual place for these kind of acts.
O ourego e o compás: Baldo Ramos, the author of this poetry book and native from Celanova, showed his new publication on 6th, July. Curros Enríquez Foundation not only supported this job collaborating with its spreading but it also was its editor. Manuel Vilanova was also present in this act.

Catecismo de la Iglesia Coalicionista: On 26th, July, the neighbour from Celanova, José Abadín Gamucio, showed his book “Catecismo de la Iglesia Coalicionista” in the “lareira room” at the Poets´ Home.
4) WORKSHOPS AND ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN
Photographic reinterpretation of “Unha boda en Einibó”: In this second year of this activity, the students of the IES Blanco Amor in Ourense carried out the representation of the poem by Curros “Unha boda en Einibó” in Celanova. It must be highlighted the number of the people who participated in this activity, more than 200 children.
Ádega and Bras celebrated their wedding with traditional music, “muiñeira” and a delicious meal.
Due to the high number of participants, the activity took place in two days, on 21st and 24th, May. The weather impeded that in one of these days the wedding could not be made in the Curros´s Route and it took place in the Monastery of San Salvador.
The Monastery of San Salvador sheltered the participants of the wedding from the rain.
Christmas workshops: In collaboration with the City Hall of Celanova, the workshops for the children of the village took place at the Poets´ Home.

6) CLASSIC CINEMA CYCLE
The projection room at the ground of the building accommodated during Christmas holidays 2006/07 a cycle of classic cinema. A total of ten films belonging to the 40´s and 50´s were projected in the morning and in the evening the days 22nd, 23rd, 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th, 30th of December and the days 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th of January 2007. “El Gran Dictador”, “Casablanca”, “Cantando Bajo la Lluvia” and “La Tentación Vive Arriba” are some of the chosen titles. .
7) ANOCHECERES EN LA HUERTA DE LA PALABRA
“Anocheceres en la huerta de la palabra” is a program subsidized by the Department of Culture. It is a project concerning culture that tries to promote the use of the orchard of the historical museum as a reception place of poems reading, small concerts, theatres, workshops, etc., during the summer.
On 6th, Friday, it took place the performance of the singer-songwriter from Ourense, Olga Andrés who gave to know some of her own themes to the 60 persons there.

The singer-songwriter from the Barco de Valdeorras, Anxo Rei, sang some of his themes and delighted the spectators with versions made with music of some Galician poets on 17th, July, including into the repertoire a personal version of the poem by Curros, “Cantiga”.

The third performance of this program was made by the group “Anxoblastrio”, formed by three members who define their music within the “New Age” movement. In their concert at the Poets´ Home offered an event where the word and the music drew together making a calm atmosphere where the spectator could feel transported, forgetting space and time.

8) POETRY READING
On 27th, July, on occasion of the “IV Trofeo Ibérico de Acordeón” it was celebrated a poetry reading of Galician-Portuguese writers by the hand of Raúl Duarte. The act was attended by 60 persons

9) TRIP TO A CORUÑA
On the occasion of the exhibition “Galicia, a forza da palabra” at the central office of the Foundation Caixa Galicia, on 9th, February, it was made a trip to A Coruña with students of the IES Celso Emilio Ferreiro and users of the Social Centre of Celanova.
There, it was given to know the role of Manuel Curros Enríquez as the president of the “Asociación Iniciadora y Protectora de la Real Academia Gallega” in La Habana and his defence of the Galician language.It was also visited the Foundation Wenceslao Fernández Flórez and the statue of Curros placed in the gardens of Méndez Núñez taking into account the proximity of the celebration of the centenary of Manuel Curros´s death.

10) ACTUALIZATION OF THE WEB: www.currosenriquez.es
Another way of promotion of the Poets´ Home and the Foundation was the creation of the web page. The updating of the contents was made all along the year pointing out the novelty of the enquiry of the bibliographic funds in the link “virtual library” as well as the possibility of its enquiry in the English language.
11) ACQUISITION OF MATERIAL FOR THE HISTORICAL MUSEUM
During this year the acquisition of different literary works, researching work and other publications related to the aims of spreading and promotion of Curros Enríquez and other authors from Celanova with whom the Foundation appeared, is being made.
The bibliographic fund comes to 1,500 issues of which about 40% is related to the literature from Celanova.
Besides Curros, Celso Emilio or Ferrín, literary works by X. M. del Caño, José Mª Paz Gago, Baldo Ramos, Lola Gándara, Paulino Vázquez, Antonio Piñeiro, Castor Elices, Manuel Lezón or Castor Méndez Brandón can also be consulted.
12) PROMOTION OF THE HISTORICAL MUSEUM AND CURROS´S ROUTE
At this point it was increased the level of promotion of the historical museum to the secondary schools of Galicia sending by mail several leaflets and a programme in order to be developed in Celanova around the figure of the writer Manuel Curros Enríquez.

Under the motto “El Curros de Celanova” we offer a proposal which combines the study of the poet´s life and work, the outdoor activity and the reading with the tourist visit in a varied, pleasant and didactic way and which tries to break the daily nature of the room. This initiative is worked as a complement to the subject of Galician Language at the same time that a walk through the history of Galicia is made.
The data from the first semester of the year 2007 show a high increase of individual visits as well as group visits. One of the reasons of this increase was the celebration of the MC anniversary of San Rosendo´s birth. More than 4,500 people visited the Poets´ Home, one thousand five hundred more than in the year 2006.
About 3,000 students distributed in more than 70 groups went to Celnanova in order to know Curros´s house and 800 of them carried out the programme “The Curros from Celanova” with us, including the Curros´s Route and the reading with poems.
PREVIOUS ACTIVITIES
INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS ABOUT CURROS AND HIS TIME
Celanova- 13th, 14th and 15th, September, 2001
Manuel Curros Enríquez´s life and work (Celanova, 1851- Habana, 1908) claimed, for a long time, a forum of study and debate which needed to be designed strictly and with ambition. It was very important to clarify some events in Curros´s biography and exhume pages and pages of his job as a journalist in Madrid and in La Habana.
The date of the Congress coincided with the 150 anniversary of his birth and the event was also taken in order to celebrate the first official act at the house after its restoration.
The lectures of this Congress were focused on the facts making reference to Manuel Curros Enríquez´s biography, studies about his literary and journalistic work, the historical-literary context, Curros and Galician Language, sources, reception and ideology.
The Council of Galician Culture, being aware of the great importance of Curros Enríquez in the Galician Letters, took on the intellectual responsibility of the organization of the Congress together with Curros Enríquez´s Foundation.
